Local fire departments participate in ag rescue training in Red Bud

AG RESCUE TRAINING–Pictured are a few of the firemen that participated in an ag rescue training held in Red Bud last weekend practicing grain bin rescue techniques.

On Saturday, Feb. 26, approximately 40 firemen representing eight area fire departments, as well as the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, came to Red Bud for the Red Bud Fire Department’s ag rescue techniques class.

This event was hosted in partnership with the Randolph County Farm Bureau, the Illinois Fire Service Institute, Gateway FS and Country Financial – Tyler Hess.

The training was an eight hour class that covered classroom learning and hands on techniques for a variety of agricultural emergencies that local first responders might be called out to. This included grain bin rescues, tractor roll overs and large animal rescues.
