Good news was the focus of the Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholders, Inc. (LKSI) meeting held on Feb. 23 in Evansville.
Both Kaskaskia Regional Port District (KRPD) General Manager Ed Weilbacher and Travis Little with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) were excited to note the amount of funding that is coming to the area.
“The President has passed the budget, and the 2022 budget was very good to us,” Little stated. He outlined quite a list of projects that this funding will be utilized for at the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam in Modoc, adding, “this funding will knock a lot off our backlogged project list.”
