Last Thursday’s power outage and Christmas items were biggest topic of discussion at Monday night’s brief Evansville Village Board meeting.
On Dec. 5, there was a widespread Ameren power outage that was caused by a substation malfunction in Sparta. This issue affected not only Sparta, but also Evansville, Baldwin, Prairie du Rocher, Ruma and the surrounding rural areas.
These areas were out for the majority of the day, and with the very cold wintry temperatures that day, it necessitated warming shelters.
