RECOGNIZED FOR SERVICE–At their June 6 board meeting, the Randolph County Commissioners presented a plaque to Alice Wydeck for her 35 years of service to the health department. She retired on June 1. Pictured at the presentation are: Health Department Administrator Krista Mulholland, Wydeck, and Commissioners David Holder, Andy Gerlach and Ronnie White.
Solar matters once again was on the agenda for the Randolph County commissioners at their June 6 meeting. They also recognized a long time employee’s retirement.
Solar energy has been a contentious topic for the county for quite some time now. And following the recent packed meetings concerning a proposed solar farm by Sparta, the commissioners were now considering an amendment to the county’s solar ordinance.
Developers will now have to pay higher fees when applying for a special use permit for a solar project.
