Brown honored for years of service

PRESENTED PLAQUE–Randolph County Circuit Clerk Julie Carnahan is pictured presenting Circuit Court Judge Richard Brown with a plaque thanking him for his many years of service to Randolph County.

As he will be retiring very soon, Randolph County Judge Richard Brown was honored at the Oct. 28 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Randolph County Circuit Clerk Julie Carnahan recognized Brown.

She noted that Brown graduated from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1977. He began his career at Atchison and Brown. He then served as the county’s public defender for 18 years, had an eight year partnership with Schuwerk, Arbieter and Brown, and served as the county’s associate judge for six years. He has been the county’s circuit judge for the past 12 years.
