North to leave RBES, school board also approved math curriculum

Mitch North

Red Bud Elementary will soon be looking for a new principal as the school board approved of Mitch North’s resignation at their Feb. 19 meeting. The board also approved of a new math curriculum.

While the board accepted North’s resignation, effective at the end of this school year, they expressed that they wished he wasn’t leaving.

North was hired as Red Bud Elementary School’s principal back in March 2024, and came highly recommended. Prior to RBES he had served as an assistant principal at Sparta Lincoln School, as an assistant principal at Waterloo High School and as the principal/assistant director at the Career Center of Southern Illinois.
