State track meets were held last Saturday, and two local athletes came home as state champions.
At the SIJHSAA Class S meet held in Murphysboro, Prairie du Rocher’s Adam Walker took first place in discus with a throw of 155’2”. As an added bonus, this winning distance also broke his own school record that he had set at regionals.
Also at the Class S state meet, Evansville Attendance Center’s Ella Walter claimed first place in shot put. She threw a distance of 34’11”, which is both a new school record and her own personal best.
