Back by popular demand, Discover Downstate Illinois is once again polling the public in search of the best barbecue joints the downstate area has to offer. Be sure to vote for favorite places and see how they stack up against the region’s best.
The tourism bureau asked everyone to submit their go-to spots to grab barbecue, and after careful consideration, narrowed the field to just 24 competitors that are all guaranteed to make mouths water. From trailer-based purveyors to brick-and-mortar establishments, all were welcome to join the running. Each one has something special to offer, so Discover Downstate Illinois encourages everyone to go out and try as many places as they can to truly take in the spirit of the competition.
