Vintage baseball game and time capsule opening held in Rocher

VINTAGE BASEBALL–A vintage baseball game was held on Saturday, May 14 in Prairie du Rocher as part of the town’s 300th anniversary celebrations. The St. Charles Explorers and the Belleville Stags put on the exhibition match, playing by 1860 rules and using period correct equipment. The Stags won the game. Pictured are the two teams.

On Saturday, May 14, the Village of Prairie du Rocher held one of their 300th anniversary celebration events.

The afternoon started off with a co-ed softball tournament, featuring 45 minute games. In the first game, the American Legion team defeated the Boondocks team. In the second game, the team from Lisa’s Market Street Grille beat the team from Rocher Pub.

For the championship round, the American Legion team came out on top over the team from Lisa’s.
