Updates and appointments at last week’s county board meeting

Several appointments were made and updates given at the June 20 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.

In the appointments, Tommy Thompson was reappointed to the Marissa Fire Protection District. The appointment is for a three year term, expiring in May 2028.

Commissioner David Holder noted that he was up for reappointment for the Illinois Counties Insurance Trust (ICIT) Board. He explained that the board still remains open with a few existing claims, but he hopes it will be closed within the next few years. The other commissioners approved of Holder’s reappointment. The appointment is for a one year term, expiring on Feb. 1, 2026.
