SHOWING OFF THE TOWN–Last week, a tour of the French Colonial Historic District was given to various officials in an effort to reignite the push to get the area designated as a national park. Pictured is Gerry Franklin, second from right, pointing out some of the historic highlights to the group in front of Lisa’s Market Street Grille in Prairie du Rocher.
On Wednesday, April 26, a group of tourists embarked from the Randolph County Courthouse to see what the area’s French Colonial Historic District offered.
Last year, following years of effort, a big push was made for designating the historic district as a national park, with hopes it would possibly be done prior to Prairie du Rocher’s 300th anniversary.
