On the morning of Friday, June 14, concrete for the splash pad at Ratz Memorial Park was poured. The splash pad is part of the Ratz Park Renovation project for which the City of Red Bud received a $400,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant. Other features in the project include: climbing rocks, a fitness area, new bathrooms, landscaping, a butterfly garden, and nearby ADA compliant parking spaces. There is still a lot of work to be completed in the renovation project, but the goal is to be completed by September of this year to meet the grant funding deadline.
