Porter’s trial pushed to October

It’s been almost one year since Shawn Porter got in a dispute that ultimately caused the death of another man, but with another continuance it’s looking like his trial may now be held in late October.

Porter, 49, of Red Bud, is facing a first degree murder charge which was the result of a dispute that took place in Red Bud on June 21, 2023. During the dispute Porter was alleged to have poured a combustible fluid onto Donald “Ennie” F. Steibel, 76, of Red Bud. Steibel suffered serious injuries from the incident and later passed away.
