As the school year wrapped up at the end of May, local crossing guard Peggy Sauer also decided it was time to hang up her many festive hats.
Sauer served as the crossing guard next to St. John’s Lutheran School for six years, and was well know for her variety of festive hats she wore while making sure children could safely cross the street, as well as “candy Fridays” where she had treats to give out.
