Some exciting news about a grant was shared at the May 24 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Commissioner Marc Kiehna said that he had been working with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on a grant for renovations and expansion at the jail.
The grant, for $4.3 million, is a Byrne Discretionary Community Project Grant. The grant is funded through Congressional directed spending through the Department of Justice and is designed to “improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, prevent or combat juvenile delinquency, and assist victims of crime.”
