Port district celebrated KRPD#2 road opening

HELD RIBBON CUTTING–Pictured at the ribbon cutting for the new entrance road at KRPD #2 are: Terry Liefer, Ron Kaempfe, Linda Tragesser, Lauren Bonner, Bob Myerscough, Katie Main, Ed Weilbacher, Mark Wilson, Dave Ogle, Brent Donovan, Kevin Voges, Chris Herrmann, Randy Muench, Eric Fritsche, Claire Grob, Josh Froesse, Mark Rujawitz, David Holloway and Anna Guebert.

It was rather chilly, but on the afternoon of Dec. 4, a sizable group still came out as the Kaskaskia Regional Port District (KRPD) officially celebrated the completion of the newly constructed entrance road and expanded laydown yards at KRPD #2 at Baldwin.

This project marks a major investment in regional transportation and industrial capacity.

KRPD Chairman Terry Liefer took a moment to note that KRPD #2 (the Stanley L. Reeble Dock and Industrial Park) was dedicated 40 years ago, formally opening on Nov. 26, 1985. He added that since then the facility has continued to grow and expand. “So from 1985 to now, this has been fantastic.”
