Recently recognized as a Hometown Hero by Red Bud VFW Post 6632 was Clarence Nail.
Nail served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1968, spending one year in Vietnam as a heavy equipment operator in the 15th Combat Engineers of the Ninth Combat Infantry Division. After returning to the U.S. he married Nancy and they finished out his military commitment at Ft. Wolters, Texas.
In 1975, Nail moved his family to Red Bud as he began his 33 year career at the Baldwin Power Station.
