On May 2, Governor JB Pritzker signed Senate Bill 2412 into law.
In a press release from Pritzker’s office, it noted that this legislation “Amends the Elections Code. Places three statewide advisory questions on the ballot for the Nov. 5, 2024 general election. Makes changes to the deadline for filing candidate nomination petitions. Makes other changes to the elections code governing the filling of vacancies in nomination for legislative offices.”
The legislation went into effect immediately.
