Ladies from the Red Bud High School Class of 1978 gathered recently to celebrate turning 65 this year with a “senior” tea. The luncheon was held at the home of Cheryl Hartmann Young in her venue, The Vintage Farmhaus in Millstadt. Of the more than 50 female classmates, 21 members were able to be present and while catching up and reminiscing about their high school years, they also remembered the seven female classmates who have passed away since graduation. Their original senior tea was hosted 47 years ago by the Red Bud Women’s Club, a long held tradition that was in place for many years which honored the high school senior girls, gifting them a small memento from the club members. Several classmates brought their handmade pincushion that they still have. Those in attendance at the gathering were: in front: Kathy Wiegard Kelley, Karen Homrighausen Crook, Karen Huebner Schau, Sandy DuClos Eckart, Cheryl Hartmann Young, Peggy Fausz Buettner and Cathy Deterding Athmer; in back: Kim Whiteside Crowell, Connie Horrell, Karla Goetting Mueth, Angie Reinhold Parker, Sandra Stellhorn Ruhmann, Julie Litton Hudson, Tammy Budde Herman, Jeanne Stellhorn Stamm, Lynn Ehlers Sheehan, Tami Hemmer Pautler, Gail Prange Roy, Kim Ray Miller, Pauline Roy Eichenseer and Barb Brand DeWeese.
