The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Chester will host a community celebration on July 10 at 5 p.m. at 402 E. Hacker Street to unveil their newly completed solar energy project.
The project is a major step toward sustainability and long-term cost savings for the charitable, non-profit organization. The event will include live music by Dirtwater Fox, giveaways, prizes, snacks and a chance to learn more about solar energy.
The Eagle’s project features a ground-mounted system consisting of 350 solar panels, generating 192.5 kW DC of solar energy (132 kW AC). The array, installed by A&I Electrical, is expected to help save an estimated $1.3 million over the system’s lifetime.
