Evansville’s police chief resigned, new officer hired

At their meeting Monday night, the Evansville Village Board approved a change of police officers and discussed grants.

Village President Kenny Kempfer noted that they had received a letter of resignation from Police Chief Aaron Runge, effective on Oct. 31. In the letter, Runge stated that he no longer had the availability needed to serve the village.

“He said he felt he was unable to give the town the time it deserved,” added President Kempfer.
