Evansville is getting a new fire truck

With a good portion of the Evansville Fire Department in attendance Monday night, the Evansville Village Board approved of their request for a new fire truck.

Trustee Darren Kempfer, who is also a fireman, shared that in addition to needing new, expensive tires, one of Evansville’s current trucks is no longer in a reliable condition, “We don’t trust it any more.” He then explained to the board that a ladder truck in Millstadt had recently become available.

The truck is being sold for $15,000. which he said the fire department could possibly afford.
