Sewer collapse issues were a big topic again at Monday night’s Evansville Village Board meeting.
Last month, the board had noted that there had been two recent sewer line collapses. This month, the board was dealing with the ongoing situation and subsequent repairs at the collapse by the old water tower on Broad Street, between First and Cherry Streets.
Village President Kenny Kempfer noted that last Thursday there was a meeting with village officials, Ameren and the village engineer to discuss the situation. He noted that Ameren is in the process of moving all of their utilities out of there, but the sewer line will need to be replaced “from manhole to manhole.”
