Grants and other updates were the biggest topics of discussion at Monday night’s Evansville board meeting.
The village has been struggling for a while now to make repairs to the water plant building. “We’re still in the process of figuring out what to do,” Village President Kenny Kempfer stated.
He said that in discussions with the village engineer, it was noted that they need to do an engineering study in order to get grant funding to repair the building. However, the engineering study comes with a hefty price tag, so they’ll have to also get a grant to do the study.
“DCEO was apprehensive at first, but we kept on them and they are now willing to help,” President Kempfer continued.
