County commissioners hear favorable audit

A report on the annual audit and some voting precinct revisions were the highlight of the July 18 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Jim Schmersahl of Schmersahl Treloar & Co. was on hand to present the annual audit and had plenty of good news for the commissioners.

Schmersahl started off by noting that this year’s was better than last years’s, and that there were noticeable differences with the administration and accounting changes that had been made. “There was improved oversight and control.”

He also noted that the county’s decision to hire Carol Best as the county administrator and Ashley Pickering as the assistant administrator definitely enhanced the audit process.
