City of Red Bud earned IMUA safety award

The City of Red Bud’s electric department was recently recognized by the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA) for having achieved a first-place rating in its division in the 2024 American Public Power Association’s (APPA) “Safety Awards of Excellence” competition.

The utility also received recognition in the APPA’s Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Program. That program recognizes public power utilities which demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Criteria also includes sound business practices and a utility-wide commitment to the safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
