Changes approved for RBES student handbook

As the new school year approaches, approving student handbook changes and staff changes were the biggest topics at the July 17 Red Bud Board of Education meeting.

With handbook changes, Red Bud High School Principal Alan Guehne noted that most were just basic language revisions as recommended by the Illinois State Board of Education.

“There are no major policy changes other than a prearranged absence form and now one college/career day for sophomores,” he stated.

Elementary Principal Mitch North had a few more proposed changes for the elementary student handbook. He told the board his changes were to address concerns that he ran into over the past year.
