TRAINING EXERCISE–A pair of Red Bud Firemen are pictured during a search and rescue training on March 11.
It has been an extremely busy week for the Red Bud Fire Department, with numerous call outs.
Fire Chief Sean Landgraf noted that on March 9, they received a call for a shed fire on Ohlwine Road, however this fire turned out to be a controlled burn of some brush.
The firemen also were called out for a small grass fire on Olive Street, which was quickly put out.
On March 10, there was a call about smoke in a residence on Olive Street.
“It ended up being a hanging plant in front of a window that was smouldering,” Landgraf explained. “We think a decorative window with faceted glass, may have concentrated light on the plant, and along with a lack of watering, caused a fire. They got lucky they were home to notice it.”
