Baldwin village board discovered financial issue

A financial situation involving notices from the IRS was discussed at the Oct. 5 Baldwin Village Board meeting.

Trustee Michael London reported to the board that the village had received notice of several missing or delinquent IRS payments.

The first that they were aware of stems from 2017 where the proper amount of payroll withholdings was not taken out. After penalties and interest on the amount, the bill for that was $3,700.

London stated that once they had been made aware of the error, the bill was paid. But then they were notified of additional delinquencies. He stated that a total of 12 quarters were not filed and several monthly payments were either missing or paid late.
