A groundbreaking ceremony was held on the afternoon of Friday, July 10 for the rail loop expansion project for the Kaskaskia Regional Port District’s KRPD#1 site by New Athens.
Kaskaskia Regional Port District General Manager Brent Donovan thanked all for coming to help celebrate this milestone.
He noted that this project will help increase capacity and efficiency at the port and is a major investment in Southwestern Illinois’ freight infrastructure.
