Strong winds and a pair of tornadoes struck the local area on Sunday, March 15.
While it was windy all weekend, a front blew in that afternoon, causing both thunderstorm and tornado warnings.
The strong winds Sunday caused damage including snapping power poles, damaging trees, destroying a few sheds and ripping part of the roof off of Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie. Some areas had power outages.
On Monday, The National Weather Service out of St. Louis confirmed two tornadoes.
