Red Bud recognizes Girl Scout Week

CELEBRATE GIRL SCOUT WEEK–At Monday night’s council meeting, Red Bud Mayor Susan Harbaugh signed a proclamation declaring the week of March 8-14 as Girl Scout Week. Several Girl Scouts from troops in Service Unit 57 – Randolph County North were in attendance at the meeting and are pictured with the city council.

While it was a short meeting Monday night for the Red Bud City Council, they had several exciting things on the agenda.

First, each year at the March meeting, a proclamation declaring Girl Scout Week is approved. As in the past, numerous Girl Scouts were in attendance to hear Mayor Susan Harbaugh read this year’s proclamation, which declares March 8-14 as Girl Scout Week.

Harbaugh welcomed all the girls and thanked them for coming to the meeting. She also had them participate in the meeting, with the service unit’s youngest Scout at the meeting, Clara Ebers, calling the meeting to order, and the oldest Scout present, Alison Koester, adjourning the meeting. Members of Troop 8317, which recently became an Honor Troop, led the Pledge of Allegiance for the evening.
