It was a short meeting for the Red Bud City Council on Monday night, with the biggest discussion being on the ordinances for the proposed senior independent living community.
Mayor Susan Harbaugh explained that the first ordinance was for the special use permit which would allow for the project to happen, and the second is a zoning variance to reduce the required lot area per unit. Both were recommended by the planning commission.
It was noted at the planning commission’s January meeting and hearings that it will be “a 42 unit senior independent living residential community to be developed within the R-4 (multiple family) zoning district,” located at 720 West Market Street.
