Wilkins and Hall both honored at LKSI’s annual barge trip

PRESENTED CONGRESSIONAL RECORDS–At the Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholders, Inc. annual barge trip held on Sept. 9, U.S. Congressman Mike Bost presented congressional records to both Robert S. Wilkins, pictured above, and Norma Hall, below.

The Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholders, Inc. (LKSI) celebrated with their 20th annual “Evening on the Kaskaskia” barge trip on Sept. 9.

Norma Hall welcomed all in attendance at the event and noted that this would be the last year for her as the chairperson for the event. “I’m retiring, but will stick around as I love the Kaskaskia and the people.”

The barge trip has been held each year since 2000, with the exception of being canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID, as a way of showcasing and highlighting the value of the Kaskaskia River. This year’s trip started and ended at the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam by Modoc.
