On the morning of Nov. 22, a sentencing hearing was held for Tim Lowry in the United States District Court for the Southern Illinois District in East St. Louis.
Lowry, the former mayor of Red Bud, was indicted on July 22 for providing a false statement to the Federal Southern Illinois Public Corruption Task Force, which is a felony. He entered a plea of guilty at a hearing held on Aug. 13.
Court documents show that on Nov. 22, Lowry was sentenced to a year of probation, as well as to pay a special assessment fee of $100 and a fine of $1,000.
