Following the arrest of one man for criminal sexual assault, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested two more for home invasion.
According to a Jan. 15 press release from the sheriff’s department, on Sunday, Jan. 10, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Timber Lake Drive in the rural Waterloo/Burksville area for a report of a criminal sexual assault that had occurred.
“Upon the arrival of the deputies, they requested EMS to assist with treatment for the adult female victim. Deputies (were) able to obtain enough information to establish a possible suspect,” the press release noted. “Within two hours of the assault being reported, deputies located the suspect and transported him to the Monroe County Jail where he was held pending further investigation.”
A few hours after the call, around 3 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, the deputies were again dispatched to the same address for a home invasions that had just happened and where “one of the suspects had been armed with a taser and a knife.”
The press release added, “(In) regards to the criminal sexual assault, investigators conducted the investigation. Investigators learned this was not a random act as the victim knew the suspect.”
