Smith is Red Bud’s first wrestler to place at state

PLACED AT STATE–Avery Smith, who wrestles for Red Bud High School, took fourth place last weekend at the first ever IHSA Girls Wrestling State Tournament. She is pictured at the tournament after one of her match wins.

There were two historical achievements for the Red Bud Wrestling program this past weekend.

First, Avery Smith participated at the first ever IHSA Girls Wrestling State Tournament. Second, she placed fourth at the tournament. She is the first wrestler from Red Bud to place at an IHSA state tournament.
