Sister Joan Shalapin, ASC, 88, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, passed away peacefully at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Benedictine Living Community in Belleville. The visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Benedictine Living Community Chapel at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville. The memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Benedictine Living Community Chapel. Pechacek Funeral Homes in Red Bud is in charge of arrangements.
