This week, Randolph County Sheriff Shannon Wolff announced that he will be retiring and not seeking re-election as sheriff in 2022.
In his announcement he stated, “After careful thought and consideration, I have chosen not to seek re-election in 2022. At the time of my retirement, I will have served over 28 years as a law enforcement officer and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life. My time as sheriff has been a joy and I am proud of the accomplishments the office has made. I have been fortunate to serve with many outstanding law enforcement professionals over the span of my career and I am confident I’m leaving you in the hands of some of the best men and women in the business. I hope that I have served you well and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be your sheriff.”
Wolff was first elected as sheriff in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018.
