HOMEGROWN HERO–Bob Schramm was recognized last week by the St. Louis District Dairy Council as the district’s grand prize Homegrown Hero. Pictured presenting him the award is SLDDC Nutrition Educator Maggie Cimarolli.
While everyday heroes have received special recognition in recent years, dairy farmers are hardly newcomers to saluting standouts in the community. For seven years running, they have honored individuals who improve the lives of others with the Homegrown Hero Award. Implemented by St. Louis District Dairy Council (SLDDC), the award rallies schools to nominate those who make a difference.
This year, SLDDC honored Bob Schramm, the head custodian at St. John’s Lutheran School in Red Bud, with special recognition as their grand prize award winner.
