School board thanks Gielow for his service, hears about solar options

THANKED FOR SERVICE–Larry Gielow had his last meeting as a board member and president of the Red Bud Board of Education on April 20. The school district presented him with a plaque to thank him for his dedicated 32 years of service on the board. Pictured at the meeting are: school board members: Bob Doty, Abby Carter, Rick Stenzel, Diane Schoenbeck, Larry Gielow, Todd Birkner and Carol Harms.

Saying goodbye to a long time board member and a presentation about installing solar panels on district buildings were the biggest parts of the April 20 Red Bud Board of Education meeting.

Larry Gielow has served as a member of the school board for 32 years, many of which as the board’s president. He opted to not run for re-election, and so this meeting was his last official meeting on the board.

Jill Miesner, president of the Red Bud Education Association, took a moment to thank Gielow for his many dedicated years of service.
