River clean-up day deemed a success

CLEAN UP DAY–Pictured are some of those that helped out on the recent clean up day at the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam and Beaver Lodge Area of the Lower Kaskaskia River, standing with the dumpster full of trash they collected.

Multiple agencies and non-governmental organizations banded together on April 17 to perform a clean-up of the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam and Beaver Lodge Area of the Lower Kaskaskia River.

According to John Hartleb, USACE natural resource specialist for the Kaskaskia River Project, “We deemed it a great success for our group. We filled up a 30-yard dumpster full to the absolute top.”
