Rep. Bost responds to results of postal processing center audit

Many in southern Illinois have been complaining about the service, or alleged poor quality of service, by the U.S. Post Office. So much so, earlier this year U.S. Representative Mike Bost asked that an audit and investigation be conducted of the St. Louis postal processing center.

On Aug. 13, results of the audit were released by the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General of the St. Louis and Hazelton, Missouri, processing and distribution facilities serving Southern Illinois.

In his statement about the audit results, it was noted that the independent report confirmed widespread problems that have fueled months of delivery delays, lost packages and substandard service impacting local families, small businesses and municipalities.
