Red Bud honors veterans with programs, dedicated M44 on Saturday at Ratz Park

DEDICATED THE M44–With the beautiful weather Saturday, there was a large group of veterans on hand for the annual Red Bud Community Veterans Day program. A highlight of this year’s program was the dedication of the M44 self-propelled Howitzer that the Red Bud VFW Post recently adopted. Pictured are veterans that were in attendance with the M44.

Last week, there were two Veterans Day programs held in Red Bud that were open to the public, as well as the awaited dedication of the M44 self-propelled Howitzer.

Friday afternoon, Red Bud High School held their annual Veterans Day assembly in the gymnasium. Principal Alan Guehne welcomed all and thanked the veterans and service members for their service to our country. He encouraged all to remember and appreciate their service.

The weather on Saturday, Nov. 11 was beautiful and a large crowd turned out for the Red Bud community Veterans Day program held at Ratz Memorial Park.
