POCKET PARK–A new pocket park has been created in Red Bud next to the city hall. The pocket park is thanks to a generous donation by Red Bud Industries, and the Community Foundation of Red Bud managed the pocket park project. Pictured with a bench at the finished park are: CFRB member Jim Faust, Joan and Ken Voges of RBI, CFRB President Gerald Hanebutt and CFRB member Brenda Gilpatrick.
Looking for a way to enjoy a nice day in downtown Red Bud? Look no further than the new pocket park by city hall.
City Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf noted that the pocket park project kicked off in the fall last year when the Voges family reached out to the Community Foundation of Red Bud (CFRB). They wanted to do something in honor of Red Bud Industries’ 65th anniversary.
The park area is nestled in a corner outside of the city hall building by the police department, next to the parking lot. “It was an open area not really being utilized,” Landgraf said.
