The Musketeer varsity baseball team played its home and season opener on Tuesday, the 15th, and came away with a strong 6-0 win against a young Valmeyer Pirates squad.
The home team was helped by four different pitchers who together combined for a shutout allowing only three hits. Thomas Freiss got the start on the bump for the Musketeers going three innings allowing only two hits. Devin Hall, Camden Langreher, and Dylan Minemann also helped on the pitching side. The offense scored six runs on nine hits in support of the pitchers. Sophomore Chase Lucht was three for three on the day while Nick Gantner and Tyler Keeven both had two hit, three RBI days. It was overall a very well executed game for the Musketeers as they finished with only two errors and one walk.
