Red Bud Council held brief meeting

There wasn’t much on the agenda for the Red Bud City Council’s Jan. 2 meeting.

There were two items the council approved from the public works committee. City Superintendent Josh Eckart explained both.

The first was to get authorization to proceed with the Taylor Street lift station upgrades and to apply for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency construction permit. Eckart noted that the lift station upgrade had been previously discussed at the committee meetings, and as they are looking at a 90 to 120 day delay in getting the permit, he would like to apply for it now.
