A set of ordinances were approved for St. Peter United Church of Christ at the July 5 Red Bud City Council meeting.
Alderman Alan Piel noted that the Planning Commission had held hearings on the matter and then presented three ordinances for the council’s approval.
The first ordinance annexed three parcels of property owned by the church (including a cemetery), located off of Powell Road and West Market Street, into the city. The next ordinance changed the zoning of these properties from residential single family R2 to business B2. The final ordinance was a special use permit that allowed for the cemetery (already located there) to be operated within a B2 business district.
