“So many people never heard this story,” said Dave Almany during a reception held Dec. 29 at Red Bud High School. “It’s a good story that needs to be told and I’m honored to tell it.”
The story that Almany was referring to is the school’s 1975 volleyball team and their journey to the state tournament, and as he discovered in his research, it’s quite a tale.
Last week’s reception honored the team as they reunited for the first time since graduating, as well as allowed Almany to talk about the book he wrote about them.
