It was a short meeting for the Red Bud City Council on Tuesday night, with water and sewer issues topping the evening’s discussion.
First, the council approved of a proposal from The Pump Shop, Missouri Machinery & Engineering Company, in the amount of $28,260 for upgrades to the lift station in Knotty Pines.
City Superintendent Josh Eckart explained that there was money in the budget for this needed work. He added that they have been dealing with numerous clogs, even requiring an outside company coming in at one point to do work, caused to “flushable” wipes (that are not actually flushable).
In addition to causing clogs, the flushing of these wipes has led to required pump rebuilds and replacements.
